Nut free afternoon tea

Having enjoyed our last visit to Jesmond Dene House, we decided to try out the afternoon tea. My husband therefore booked a girly treat for my sister, mum and I. When he called to book the afternoon tea he mentioned my nut allergy but what I didn't expect is that when we arrived they had printed 'nut free afternoon tea menus'. I have never been to a restaurant before where my allergy has been taken so seriously. This immediately put me at ease.

When the food arrived, we were impressed by the volume of tasty treats which included a stilton and broccoli tart, homemade sausage rolls, sandwiches, scones (plain, cheese and fruit) and finally a dessert level of dark chocolate and fruit sphere, lemon cheesecake, meringue basket and raspberry sundae. The food was absolutely delicious and the portion size was so generous that we ended up taking a box of leftovers home.

All in all our experience at Jesmond Dene House was amazing and I would definitely recommend it for allergy sufferers. I'd rate it 5/5 for food and the way my allergy was dealt with.
