Ask Italian

We recently decided to use our Tesco Clubcard vouchers on a meal out and chose our local Ask Italian. £10 worth of clubcard voichers got us £30 to spend on food.

We informed the waitress on arrival of my nut allergy and we were handed an allergen menu. This identified in a clear table which products contained nuts/peanuts. There wasn’t too much on the menu that contained nuts so there was plenty of choice.

I ordered spinach and ricotta arancini followed by a chicken, bacon, olive and mushroom calzone. My husband ordered king prawns in garlic butter followed by the carne calzone. We shared some chips with garlic mayo.

Our starters were delicious. My arancini came with a spicy tomato dip which went well with the creamy arancini filling. I also tried my husbands king prawns which were delicious. They did however come with the shell on which I don’t usually like.

Both calzones were fresh and tasty and the chips were especially special with just the right amount of crunch.

I did notice that there were desserts on the menu which didn’t have nuts in but unfortunately we were too full to try them.

We had a lovely meal at Ask and we were happy to see they had procedures in place. I’d therefore give out experience 4.5/5.
