The hidden dangers of Christmas presents

Body lotions are a popular Christmas present and I recently received a Pure Lakes Hand and Body Lotion. My mum had checked the ingredients in the shop and had even asked the sales assistant to check there were no nuts. When I read the ingredients however I recognised one of the Latin words “prunus amygdalus”. I didn’t know exactly what it was but after checking on google I confirmed that it was almond. 

Usually I’ve found that body lotions will list the Latin word but also the English translation in brackets. It’s really dangerous not to make clear on packaging that a product contains nuts and hopefully no one will get caught out by this!
